2014 Election LASD Paul Tanaka

Runoff for Sheriff: It’s McDonnell! Tanaka a Distant 2nd…A Rematch in November!

With 100 percent of precincts reported, McDonnell skated mighty close to the magic 50.1 percent, but did not quite cross over. Tanaka is second, Olmsted third, Hellmold fourth….followed by Gomez, Rogers & Vince

Onward to November!

  • Well, if Tanaka makes the runoff, it will give me the pleasure of voting against him TWICE!

  • Maybe PT needs more people to write pathetic letters on his behalf? Hahaha!!!! Loser!!!!

  • Yes Dual Tracker……Alads has been Ripping Off members for years. No Tanaka No Hayhurst No ALADS….NO DRAMA. Let’s do it! All Deputies, let’s go for it!

  • If McDonnell does not get his 50+ tonight, My suggestion to “sit in a corner”ALADS is that whoever the president is, go to any sporting goods store and purchase two balls to have a pair. It can be footballs, bowling balls, baseballs, golf ball or even ping pong balls………just get a pair and get your ass off the sidelines and into the game. Real P.O.A.’S are tired of waiting on you. MAKE A DECISION!

  • Hehehe, time to find a new job Commander Gooden. Your support for Tanaka will cost you a boot to your butt by Sheriff McDonald.

  • My oh my, how close did I get to my prediction: McDonnell ahead, and a close race between Olmsted and Tanaka. Returns prove that the electorate made a decisive shift towards McDonnell in the last week, which proved fatal for a runoff with Olmsted, as they competed for the same votes.

The low information voter base that Tanaka relied on won’t change much in November, and they will account from 15-20 percent of the electorate. A historical landslide in the making, and the koolaid drinkers on the receiving end!

Not as good as my candidate in the runoff, but definitely a second choice with McDonnell! Memo to Dulce, how’s that 2% looking? Memo to Veritatem and Boomer, how’s that Region II ass-whooping looking?

And by the way Boomer, any fantasies you had of a Tanaka/Hellmold runoff with you parked at SHQ calling shots, leave them to rest. Sheriff Scott was at the McDonnell’s party, and is currently receiving the 411 on all the Koolaid drinkers.

    Have fun!

  • Hopefully Mc Donnell will surpass 50% and we’ll be rid of BANAKA for good! Either way, even stubborn Tanaka knows he’s toast and Training Day will only be a faint memory in Boom’s warped imagination.

Thank you Bob Olmsted. Without you, this day never would have happened. Go retire in peace knowing that you removed a deadly little Asian tumor from the Department.

  • McDonnell earns 3 votes for every 1 Tanaka has. That’s an old fashioned whoopin’ in the woodshed for everyone. The voters are pretty clearly telling the LASD they want an outsider to change the department’s direction.

More and more dirt is going to come out about Tanaka if he ends up in a runoff with McDonnell. This could get ugly for the region II-claiming meat heads who love to thump their chest and hoist their beers.

  • If I see farther than most men, it’s because I stand on the shoulders of PT….

Damn it, I can’t see farther than November, because the voters got in the way of my evil scheme.

LACO voters that cared got out and tried to send a message tonight to our department. Other than Jerry Brown, nobody else carried that much water.

48% is the straight veritas in PT’s pudding. Trustee! Get these boys a towel so they can clean their s@#t up. boom¡

  • Do you honestly think we will let a guy who bleeds blue run the tan and green? We don’t shoot unarmed shoplifting civilians in the back. Stand by to stand by…. “Mcdonalds”

  • McDonnell is at 49.15% with 100% of districts reporting, however there is still another boat load of absentee ballots received on election day to count. Dunno how long that takes…but could push him over the edge.

  • Tanaka, you should do yourself a favor and pull out of the race, the voters are making a clear statement to you. Just concentrate on your defense in the corruption case because with just two candidates the focus will be on your failings, the days leading up to November look blacker than the “shoe polish” you have been putting in your hair.

  • Mr. T will probably drop out of the race. Investigation + scoreboard = futile.
On a note that’s funny as hell, Gomez got more votes than Rogers.
BUT, Rogers is reported to have already made a deal with McDonnell to be the undersheriff. The bad blood between Rogers and Tanaka supporters has amped up ten fold in recent months. What does that mean?

LACERA better get some kayaks, there’s a flood headed their way.

  • I voted for Mc Donnell. Thanks to that Boomer creep, I decided against Tanaka. I even lead a small campaign for Mc Donnell at CSLA.

  • Finally the hard working deputies who have been getting beat up in the media because of jerks like Tanaka and Hellmold will have their pride back. McDonnell is a rank and file supporter and will turn the Sheriff dept around. Scary to think that 14% of morons actually voted for Tanaka who is under federal investigation. Word around LA County is Tanaka gets indicted before November. As of this morning McDonnell is at 50%. Damn good for not having the “paid off money” Tanaka got and for Tanaka having a whole year ahead of McDonnell campaigning.

  • It is fantastic to see good versus evil play out in reality and that good is winning over evil. The trouble with Banaka was you couldn’t tell either of them the truth unless it was their truth. Tanaka learned early on how to manipulate the emperor with no clothes, and in doing so, damaged a proud department beyond belief.

  • BOLO the radio car of trust.

You guys know how bad you would be puffing your chest and pounding the war drums if tanaka was even remotely in the race….

Show some heart you jellyfishes. Hell, I have a PT shirt and a patio coin as a little war momento.

  • PT’s ego and true colors were in the spot light last night when he denied access of the media and hung police tape outside of his party of losers. I mean seriously…what story does he tell himself that makes him believe that is a good strategy? Where is he today???? Licking his wounds?!?! Love it! Couldn’t happen to a better boy.

  • Att: ALADS…..Steck” the train wreck” and “void of common sense” Floyd. The entire Sheriff’s Department is watching you. Do the right thing and do what should have done earlier. ENDORSE MCDONNELL. We know that Hayhurst leads the secret Tanaka backers at ALADS. For the sake of the Sheriff’s Department’s future. DO NOT TALK OR TRY TO WEASEL YOUR VOTE FOR TANAKA! WE ARE WATCHING YOU. Steck, let go of your daddy’s hand (Floyd) and pull the trigger.

  • #13 Honest joe,”Do you think we will let a guy who bleeds blue run the tan and green?”

“We” will have nothing to do with swaying the election one way or another. The voter mass will. Google pt and you get a whole page of scandal results. This race is already done.

I undrdstand why some don’t want an outsider running the department. You can thank pt for that. I think an outsider will be good for the department. We can finnaly scrap the pt cruiser. Let’s stop the “we are better than that unit/region/station” and move on ALL united with a new sense of pride.

  • Congratulations to Sheriff McDonnell! We can finally move forward and take back the Department that was hijacked by the Machiavellian tactics of the “little prince”. Please know that the majority of your new Department are hard working “straight shooters” who welcome your presence and willingness to start “cleaning house”. There are plenty of us who are willing to tell you where the land mines and trip wires are located.

  • Educate me…what will be the affect on ALADS and PPOA if McDonnell wins?! Have they been ripping of the deputies? Are the unions useless and disliked by many?

  • Jeff Steck and Floyd Hayhurst are stealing your dues right now and funneling them into the PAC account to fund McDonnell’s campaign. Dick Shinee is sitting pretty taking 3 million of your dues as he has illegally approved the change in bylaws over the past 10 years to continue funding his own firm and piggy bank. McDonnell will look the other way on ALADS corruption after they pour money into his campaign. Hayhurst will continue stealing your money and Jeff Steck too. They can retire and cash out in the Cayman Islands. Bus driver Hayhurst bought his Masarati off your your backs you fools.

http://www.badbadalads.wordpress.com – if it is true??

  • Reed Galen, Tanaka’s consultant, in the LA Times commenting on quotes from Olmsted’s and Rogers’ campaign spokesmen:

“The only thing any of us know for sure is that Todd Rogers isn’t going to be the next sheriff, and nor will Bob Olmsted,” Galen said. “The fact that they’re attacking Paul is because they have nothing else to run on.”

Speaking of desperation Galen, what is Paul going to run on? Viral ignorance? Shall we remind you more than 85% of the electorate voted against him and they are relishing a second shot at putting him out of his misery?

“Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee…”

  • What was that slang term Dulce used to describe a person getting put in check?

Moded? I believe that was it.

  • Well it has been an interesting last two days. A sort of reunion (good/bad) at Federal Court, election results, McDonnell celebration with Sheriff Scott making an appearance and now tonight the Stanley Cup.

Watching the celebration unfold at the J.W. Marriott is something I will never forget and the mood in the room was immeasurable. History in the making and in the right direction.

Then again, who would of thought blue would be overseeing tan and green. I think we know who to thank for that though….

  • Just fantastic a politician that can not control a force of 800 but is going to mange the LASD or petty tyrant subject of FBI investigation not much to vote for!

  • ALADS, YOUR THE NEXT GROUP OF LOSERS TO GET THE AXE….DON’T GIVE THAT THREE MILLION TO MCDONNELL, HE’S ALREADY A LOCK. GIVE IT BACK TO US WHO WORK FOR A LIVING.

  • Sheriff: P. T
    Under Sheriff/ Compton Gang Welfare: B. A
Director of Cigar Club: C. R
Director of Christmas Parties/Staff Fights: D.C

  • @27. We are watching especially since TANAKA is still in the race (barely) and HAYHURST still holds the reins to ALADS and access to all the funds there. Yes sport fans and you blind sheep out there….. even in retirement. HAYHURST calls the shots. He will repay you by giving you and your family a day at RAGING WATERS.You should ever be so grateful. Thank God for POPA & for LASPA. By the way. Floyd thanks you for buying his Marsaratti. Payments will be no problem as he tries to finagle his way into the Executive Director position at ALADS. MEMBERSHIP>>>>>> WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BULLSHIT!

  • Here’s the rundown. Calling it like I see it.
    Jimmy “Crime Fighter” Hellmold.
I am the only democrat in the race. I’m buddies with Leonardo DeCaprio. I spoke at a gang members funeral. I announced my candidacy outside of First AME Church.
Almost 8% of the vote. Not even a double digit %.
Can’t even claim to be a spoiler. Can’t even shake Leroy’s hand and say: “There you go boss, at least I kept Tanaka from being the sheriff, that was our goal from the beginning”. Tanaka could have gotten every single Hellmold vote and it would still be a landslide. How much per vote did Jimmy spend?

    Todd “The Inside Outsider” Rogers
Reno 911 crew? Really? His whole claim of being an “outsider” was hilarious. Baca appointed him A/S. Who’s the last “outsider” that happened to? He got fewer votes than Pat Gomez. OUCH. Maybe the pleasure of having Tanaka’s old job under McDonnell and having the power to reign terror on Tanaka’s supporters will ease the pain.

    Bob Olmsted
Gary Nalbandian? Really? He never had a chance to be sheriff. But he can walk away knowing that he led the charge in exposing it all, and if there’s anyone who can claim that they were instrumental in derailing the Tanaka train (other than Tanaka himself and Baca) it was him. Many will call him him a hero for that. Many others will forevermore despise him.

    Paul “The Heir Apparent” Tanaka
How did it happen? How did he go from being the heir apparent to being embarrassed last night? If he had to do it over again would he have had that meeting at CJ? Would his supporters flaunt their relationship with him and piss their coworkers off every chance they got while invoking his name? Would he still make the decision to show those incompetent fucking feds a thing or two?

Pat “Not Even Worthy of A Moniker” Gomez
Holy shit. He finished ahead of TWO guys. What a moral victory. He above anyone else should be laughing his ass off at Rogers.

    Lou Who?
Yes. Your friends and family saw you on TV and in the paper. Several times even!

Jim “The New Sheriff In Town” McDonnell
The political birdie found a sweet limb to land on. It being by default doesn’t make it any less sweet. He’ll need to raise about $ 1.95 between now and Nov.

    The moral of the story:
Lee Baca, the educated progressive, the guy the media loved for 13+ years will be remembered as the worst sheriff the county has ever had. This happened on his watch.

  • The sad pathetic truth is that our Department got ran into the ground by PT and his boot humping fools. The truth is the community will not trust anyone from within the Department and there are many good people. It is going to take years to fix this mess. Well this is how everyone will remember PT. Unless, something happens with the FEDS. Good luck to all those individuals that were promoted and placed into great positions due to their connection with PT. There is no one else to blame except the little man

  • I just ask that there is a cleansing like we have never seen, from the A/S down to the Capt. level. Somebody please tell Jim that the line staff wants change. We want to see all these execs. that sat back and enjoyed the rise and fall and did nothing to help it GONE. Bring in people from where ever you need to, but just clean this house.

  • It is so great to see the change that has started. Thank you Bob olmstead for exposing the graft and malfeasance. Thank you John Scott for lighting a fire under the executives asses. Thanks soon to be Sheriff Mcdonnell for offering your talents to restore this great Department. Welcome to Tan and Green!

  • @28 never drank the pt cool aid but letting an outsider who does not have a clue on how we run will fail. He has ruined LBPD. I bet LBPD guys are going to be glad to see him go.

  • #14, There are 150000 uncounted ballots. Throw out 20% of those for errors which would leave you with 120,000 for the final count. All McDonnell needs to pick up is a net of .85 of a percent to gain the 50+%!he needs. Considering the vote count already reported it’s a solid bet that Jim McDonnell has won & there will be no runoff.

  • Hopefully all the ballots were turned in and not hiding in a trunk of a vehicle. I would never count out dirty tactics….NEVER.

  • @44. Makes sense. That must be why they are already transferring, promoting and demoting people.

  • @ 43) We have no choice other than an outsider. If you don’t handle your affairs at your personal residence then an outsider would take your place. That includes your wife, your kids and your bank accounts and bedroom. As for an outsider running LASD. It was running amuck anyway. Sad but true. Live with it or leave it.

  • Heard a rumor that some promotions and demotions at the top today. Anyone hear the same thing?

  • J.H to played FAVORITES just like P.T. All those he promoted, watch your backs….Dean Brothers your two of many on a list…

  • @Same Dance Different Tune: Who’s moving where? @The Past: Yep, could be. Would be wonderful if we could not waste six months and 1-2 million dollars on an unnecessary election just to play to Tanaka’s vanity. You’d think a CPA could do the math. @Time To Clean House: Great find. Reed Galen’s quote about the election resetting is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. This primary trended Republican and Tanaka, running as a Republican, was made a mop to wipe McDonnell’s floor. With support from the others’, and aided by 5-6 months of media scrutiny of Tanaka and Tanaka hating on the media, and Tanaka ‘loyalists’ jumping ship for career and self-respect reasons … Tanaka will get trounced by a 90 percent margin. He could go out with some measure of class now by acting in the interest of the organization, as Baca did. But he doesn’t care about the LASD. Hopefully Tanaka’s bag men cut off his funding so he’s forced to face reality.

And how pathetic that Tanaka (a candidate for office!) doesn’t even speak for himself. Everything he’s said the past two weeks basically has been through some faceless spokesman. What a coward. What a chump. What a turd in LASD’s dust.

  • Paul Tanaka is a cancer. His continuing to run only hurts LASD. Anyone continuing to support him should be ashamed. And ROD’d as a betrayal of the tradition of service.

  • Hold on, still 150k votes uncounted, even if Jim gets 10% of those votes, that could be more than enough to hit the 50.1% required…

  • Congrats Mc Donnell looking forward to working for you. I see all of P.T.s running buddies are retiring Rhambo and Betkey (being replaced by a Director).

  • Shocking as hell that 79,000 idiots actually voted Tanaka. PT under FBI investigation for obstruction of justice. 2003 Tanaka drew federal scrutiny for helping funnel hundreds of sheriff’s bulletproof vests to Cambodia through Gardena without declaring them to customs. IS tattooed as a member of the Vikings, an unsanctioned group of hard-charging deputies. OMG are you freakin kidding me that this moron should be Sheriff!!. TOO MANY INSIDERS SCREWED UP THE DEPT. Alert to McDonnell supporters. Tanaka clowns taking down McDonnell signs, using intimidation w/his boys to support Tanaka and not allowing businesses in ELA County to have McDonnell signs in windows. Sounds how Tanaka has always done business

  • Tanaka is too full of pride to go away. Let him bankrupt himself in a futile effort in the Fall. That way, regardless of what the Feds do or don’t do, we will never hear from him again.

  • Why would someone running for office have a his own people physically put hands on a reporter at that hole in the wall restaurant in Gardena?

Tanaka has absolutely NO CLASS and after being at McDonnell’s event the other night….talk about a room full of powerful people.

  • #53 I wish it was that simple. McDonnell would need around a 5,000 vote net gain to make the 50% +1 to win. I noticed that the trend line brought McDonnell closer to the 50% goal over time, thus the hope that the .85 of one percent can be closed. Another way to think about it is he needs about 52 to 53% of the uncounted vote to close the gap. It will be very close & I sincerely hope it does happen. The angry side of me hopes that the McDonnell win is within a few hundred votes causing Tanaka to pay for a recount & to finally lose by one vote. Stuff of dreams!

  • Haven’t heard from Boomer……any echoes from him or region 2? Mighty quiet out there. Demotions have already started at headquarters. Sheriff Scott is already prepping the department for the new regime. Popa and ALADS…..You should endorse now, but save your money. Jim will be the next Sheriff of Los Angeles County. Your money is better spent on the Deputies. ” I can see clearly now that the rain has gone” I will now encourage young qualified people to join the LASD.

  • The Past; you are right but early voting, absentee, had McDonnell at 47%. The 150,000 will like break the same as the early vote and we will see another vote in November. That said, go McDonnell!

  • #50, yep that was me. I warned you to watch your backs…more crap is coming down hill.

  • Sheriff Scott get rid of Commander Waters, he is a Baca/Tanaka boy and needs to get investigated by the Feds more thoroughly!
