Maybe or maybe not in this case, a lot of the fires are fueled by underbrush that used to be cleared by controlled burning by the Forest Service until whining by “environmentalists” brought that to an end. It was stupid to call for that and stupid to give in to it.
These current fires are horrible and, just like the LAPD, should be investigated with an eye towards putting in place effective tactics to stop the spread of future fires. Will anyone cry out for that? I doubt it. It serves no political purpose and could help “the rich.”
It’s easier to explain this as an act of nature and go to causes where some can actually blame people for points.
