The great LA Times blog, The Homicide Report, which was put on “hiatus” last November (a term that most of us took to mean killed) has been brought back from the dead. I just discovered this fact last night. But it appears that it has been up since this past Sunday. It was put back up without any apparent fanfare, so no one seemed to notice for a couple of days.
In the note about its reappearance, the Times said that it intends for reporters to go back and catch up on the deaths between November and the present.

It is essential that a city acknowledge its dead—even its nonfamous dead. Especially its nonfamous dead.
Who are we if we cannot do at least that?
