Whitney Houston: 1963 – 2012 – R.I.P.

One of the best voices gracing the world of pop music, a beauty with a trillion dollar smile, Whitney Houston seemed to find little peace.

Yet her talent remains incandescent.

  • RIP to one of the voices of my childhood. I can already feel the media sizing Bobby up to be a scapegoat. But I think it’s much more complicated than that. I think both Whitney and Bobby connected by a common trait of wanting to be loved. Both hit the road performing professionally at a young age. No matter how good the parents are, the life of a child professional entertainer is full of emptiness and neglect. It’s unavoidable. And to compound matters in Bobby’s case, he was an orphan, if I’m not mistaken. I think that was the true sickness Bobby and Whitney had. That was the disease. The drug use was the symptom. RIP Whitney.

  • Heart….breaking. And beautiful. Thanks, Listener.

    What an instrument she had.

(And I fixed the post where the sometimes irritating WordPress messed with it.)

Hope all is well at your end of the world.
