  • I hate the wave. It can be the bottom of the ninth, one run behind, bases loaded, three balls and two strikes, and some idiot will try to start the wave.

  • “Um, how drunk are these people?”

    *********************
How drunk is the person holding/shaking the video camera?
    This brilliant leadership?

  • If that whole thing wasn’t staged for the narrator’s speech, then it’s strong evidence that the voting age needs to be raised back to twenty-one.

  • Great catch, Celeste. Theory of the first follower seems dead on. The narrator (Siver?) nailed several human inhibitions/defenses that have to be conquered in order to get traction. Getting the first person to stop and sign a petition for some cause, or getting the first person to volunteer, or make a small donation, etc. is always the toughest.
    Excellent example of movement origins.

  • Thanks, Rob, for pointing out that this was about leadership theory and movement origins, and not—for heaven’s sake—a comment on the value or lack thereof, of shirtless, dancing and very likely drunken (or stoned) guys.

    (Sheesh.)

  • Rob Thomas says
So, I’d have to say, yes. I think the Mexican drug cartels would run this country better than Republicans, considering the circumstances.

Are you serious? You’re joking right?

  • I see Conchita aka Common Sense aka WTF aka Say What is going to drag this cartel argument to every single thread. I shouldn’t respond to his disruptive behavior, as I explained the point thoroughly on the same thread in which I made it. But I’ll make it again, with one sentence. A drug war is no less moral than a war for oil.

  • Fr. Greg Boyle is the Shirtless Dancing Guy. Are you ready to join him in The Movement? Buy “Homeboys Until The End” from iTunes, amazon music, or wherever you can find tracks from THE MOVEMENT, the new album of songs written, produced and performed by homeboys and homegirls from the Homeboy Industries family!!!
