WitnessLA is dark this week unless there’s news we simply cannot avoid. Then we will be back on January 3 in full force.

In the meantime, happy holidays, merry late Christmas, Happy New Year! We’ll see you in 2017

(In case it’s not clear, that’s Rufus Wainwright singing “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve”)

  • Celeste, enjoy your time off with friends and family. LASD owes you and your staff a debt that can never be fully repaid. You exposed the corruption of Paul Tanaka and Lee Baca along with their disgraceful army of pathetic supporters. It was your true professional journalism that shined the light of truth and forced the change so desperately needed; Tanaka exposed for who and what he is resulting in a five year Federal prison stretch and the disgraced Lee Baca awaiting his next trial. Thank you, Celeste, thank you for doing what no other publication would do. You got the Feds to empty a few of our garbage cans and you gave us a voice. Happy New Years!
