Thinking of Martin Luther King, Jr.

“…I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality.”

– Martin Luther King, Jr., Dec. 10, 1964, when—at age 35—he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo.

  • A good man. no doubt. But, a moral man he was not. I too wonder if a person’s sins, in a time long past, are ever forgiven? True that the good Lord has forgiven all. But, if you run for office or in the public eye, forgiveness is something unknown to identity politics. There are no perfect people except those who criticize?
Alveda King has said over and over that MLK was a Republican but, some history suggests that he was neither as both parties have racial horrors in their history. To say that only one party has the lock on racial justice is just plain folly. MLK marched so African Americans could join in the Freedoms of Voting and Equal Rights, not equal abilities. Along with these freedoms we have all forgot the sacrifice and responsibility that is attached to these rights.

I fought alongside many brave men and sadly a few cowards. Many of the brave died with honor and dignity, if there’s such a thing in war. None of the brave were perfect. The cowards die everyday in their shame and dishonor. Once a coward normalizes his/her behavior(as many politicians do) their speech, becomes ridiculous on both sides, I often don’t understand how anyone can believe such tripe? Many of these cowards are frequently listed on this site. When one deals with evil payment is always immediate. These cowards may not notice, at first, but you will pay and in full.

As long as we are at each others racial throats none of us will see “the promised land.” Jobs are coming in but we need much more work with schools, parenting and keeping our Faith.

Today, I choose to visit family, friends and will do what I can to not say one unkind word toward anyone. I hope I can do it! So, maybe I won’t watch or hear any news? LOL Pray all is well.

  • Yeah…the state governments in places like California and others behaving the same as the are behaving no differently than the governments of the segregated south. The state governors, legislators and regional district courts are not only willfully defying Federal Law, but creating “work arounds” to boot.

Just like the local governments of the “Jim Crow” era south created laws in opposition to the Federal Government, so are the liberal and progressive governments of today following the same play book.

Yeah, I agree this administration is totally responsible for local governments and their officials loosing their minds, breaking the law and behaving the way they do.

  • Your thoughts? Probably still looking for Obama’s birth certificate, more than eight years later. Lol

  • Set us 50 years back? My 401k is exploding, cops actually have a friend in the White House and Hollywood perverts are having to behave, yeah life is like it was 50 years ago dimwit.

  • @ Conspiracy: Your clarity is a true rarity, with your post being so true in comparisons. Only fools ignore it and pretend otherwise.

  • Always reminds me of what Chris Rock said about any street in America named after Martin Luther King.
