March 21st, 2007 by Celeste Fremon

Cathy Siepp

LA writer, pundit, mom, rescuer of stray animals, brave and outrageous babe. Rest In Peace.

Here’s the Times obit.

Better yet, here’s what Sandra Tsing Loh had to say about Cathy over at writer Nancy Rommelmann’s blog.

Didn’t she once have a psuedonomous column on the LA TIMES in LOS ANGELES magazine?

  2. Celeste Fremon Says:

It was in the old BUZZ magazine and she was famously critical of the Times. It was quite outrageous and clever. Obviously Cathy was a hard core member of the loyal opposition, but with a lovely mind and a great heart—all reasons why a lot o’ liberals counted her as a friend.

    Right.

One of my favorite parts of that mag.

    Thanks

Her pseudonym was Margo McGee, apparently after one of the characters in the comic strip that ran in the Times

And somehow this seems like a good place to wish the best to Elizabeth and John Edwards.

  6. Celeste Fremon Says:

Yep. What Richard said. Where ever one is in the political spectrum, this is not happy news. I never understood people’s desire to have a beer with George Bush. (McCain? Maybe. Hilary? Not so much.)

But I’d happily have a margarita or two with Elizabeth Edwards.

See Jane Hmsher’s remarks on this over at FIREDOGLAKE.he notes that one of the people wishing her well during her recent cancer treatments was Elizabeth.
