   Roses R good, and resilient as they bend from the weight of the moisture. Count your blessings in that your moisture is Liquid as it should be, rather than cold and white. My roses could festoon the hairdo of some zombie corpse. My garden is a picture of morbidity. Woe.

   1) Who cares what the neighbors think about what you do in your own yard, especially when it’s no worse than trotting around in your robe and slippers snapping photos of your roses;

   2) I’m impressed by the variety – having a brown thumb, I can’t even get the hang of when and how to prune roses, try though my sister might, who takes after our mom in that dept. – her house is the one everyone drives by to see the floral display, me, I have succulents – good for our arid climate, anyway, and holds up the hillsides.

   3) I assume you posted this thread just to get the guys off the previous one, slinging shots back and forth over who can make sense of what – but good luck getting them to talk about roses. The scene reminds me of some old John Wayne or Cary Cooper western where in the midst of a shoot-out on Main St., and men are getting tossed out of the saloon dead or alive, some oblivious townfolk are in the shop buying a bolt of fabric or some lumps of sugar, turning a blind eye to it all.

   Hi Gava Joe,

   WBC, I had no hope of getting the guys off of slinging masa (and on to roses. I’m an optimist, but not THAT optimistic). I was simply pleasing myself and anyone who wanted to stop shooting. (On to fabric, sugar and….roses.)

   I suggest that you have an instrumental version of Tom Jobim’s “Chovendo na Roseira” (It’s Raining on the Roses) aka Double Rainbow to accompany the flower photos.

   Nice pictures. I like your roses. You have an interesting garden with the slope and different backgrounds. Maybe you can take us on a video garden tour someday. I’m thinking about growing cotton next year.
