When a Starbucks opened across the street from our offices in downtown Missoula, Mont., a few years ago, a lot of people in this liberal college town were not too pleased...

Celeste,

Thank you for the kind words.

Take into consideration that since today is Friday, one could come up with some other positive endevor than reading some bogus report from the "General Secretary of Gang Intervention".

BTW, is there a electronic version that you can send me at redspotincd14@yahoo.com ??

Looking forward to the dialog and keep away from those Black Widows.

HA! Gava Joe, you made my morning. Fortunately, no Round Up was needed (although in years back I used the stuff to repeatedly murder large patches of poison oak, to which I'm absurdly allergic, in all the neighbors' yards.)

On Sunday, however, I had a mighty battle with the local black widows over the patio furniture. In the end, I won, but only barely and only because I had superior fire power in the form of napalm level bug spray, a killer hose nozzle, plus my trusty cowboy boots (the better to stomp them with, my dear).

****************

Epcy, I must admit I have Rising Wolf dark roast coffee shipped in from the Montana Coffee traders (located, quite logically, in the state of Montana). Why? Because, just taking the bag labeled "Rising Wolf" out of the freezer every morning cheers me up. (Yes, I DO know this is pretty nuts.) Plus I've been drinking the stuff whenever I go to MT for at least 20 years, and know the owner, etc. etc. Good coffee.

Small pleasures are a good thing.

Okay, working on the blog post right now.

Put a splash of jim beam in that coffee, break out the Roundup, put the goat on a spit and we'll party til the Brazero Program gets reinstated. Who says the service sector has all the jobs? Well whoever said it never ate a good goat and smelled napalm in the morning.

Also a member of the Wakin' Up Club, Celeste - nothing starts the day for me, like a cup of Folgers Instant Decaf Crystals, always smooth and creamy, and brewing hot!!

Well, a neglected yard is what you get when we have a sinking economy and the illegal Mexican workers go back home and leave it up to ourselves to tend to things. There must be a million leaf blowers sitting idle in America. I'm glad that you reclaimed the yard so that you can enjoy it. Maybe you should buy a goat. They will eat weeds and everything in sight. But, make sure that the goat is legal.
