Woody, yep, that's Merlin the cat, a vicious killing machine, and the guy who sits on my lap much of the time during work hours (when not walking across the keyboard, or settling down on whatever pile papers I've decided I need to use at any given moment).

And, hey, you commented on the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE: The cat.

"I blame the dems for being spineless. But the Times has it right handing the repubs the bigger and badder responsibility for this prison mess."

Celeste, you have GOT to be kidding. Last time I checked the Dems outranked the Repubs by 25 to 15 in the senate and 48 to 32. Those are called MAJORITIES... sure, the Repubs can (and likely do) use as many procedural tactics as possible, but when the end of the day comes anyone in their right mind knows that a vote can be forced. If presented with a bill passed by the dems, the Governator will sign it, you know it, I know it and Arnold knows it. (Is that Maria standing behind him waving a rolling pin :) enforcing HER rule?) LOL.

And in this case, the Dems are anything BUT spineless. They don't want the Public on their case, and they are standing up to the powers that be to keep the... OK, maybe they are spineless. ROFL.

Your site is a springboard to great things, Celeste. Congrats, Alan.

Celeste, is that a picture of your cat that you scare when you laugh?

I have no other comments on this post. The subject matter was more of a local nature and it's length exceeded my attention span. Sorry for any disappointment.

I read his column right before checking out WLA. Its a great addition to LA City Beat. So, I guess my question is: With the New Times buying out the Weekly, are we going to see more writers moving over to LA City Beat?

Congratulations, Big Al! Best wishes. Yeah, given the tone of that column, Kevlar might be a good thing. Even snipers aren't bullet immune.
